Where did all the boys go? Chemical exposure reduces male birth rates.
We live in a chemical world. Oh, those wonderful chemicals. Most modern world advances are thanks chemistry-lab science, but thankfully we are also finding that many chemical exposures can be avoided as natural alternatives are being discovered.
We seem to be falling over evidence that the chemicals from our homes, air, food, water, etc… are toxic to our health. I found this recent report compelling and thought I would pass it along.
“Whole Life Times reports on the compelling evidence that exposure to toxic chemicals, found in many everyday products, is lowering male birthrates. A Scandinavian study showing that twice as many girls as boys are being born in the arctic region, which they dub a “pollution sink” that is rife with industrial chemicals. ”
“Another report from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences states that the ratio of male to female births has dropped significantly in the U.S. and Japan, stating that there are 250,000 fewer boys born today than would have been born circa 1970.” (taken from Study Shows Disturbing Link Between Industrial Chemicals and Lower Male Birth Rates article by Natalie Cadranel. Read the rest here at HealthyChild HealthyWorld).
It seems that some of these chemicals are acting as endocrine disruptors, altering testosterone production. As evidence mounts, consumers are searching for product options that will reduce exposure to toxic chemicals.
What to do? Search for organic food & vitamins, avoid plastics, filter your water, use non-toxic household and personal care products. Go green - for your health!
